Hi! I'm Shannon. I have created this blog to help support 8th graders doing math in Williston Central School. All 8th graders in our school complete an 8th grade challenge that involves helping our community and increasing our own knowledge. The blog will include; general resources for algebra, resources to help with specific assignments, a hosting site for conversations about specific topics and assignments in our 8th grade math class.

As an eighth grade math student I was wondering if we could actually be taught the things that we're given in a study guide which is usually pretty confusing. Also even though sometimes we do learn some things, the teachers go over them really quickly. I don't think this is exactly fair to the students because it offers zero education, seen as we do different things every week. For example, this week we learned totally different ways of doing equations and I know that tomorrow I probably won't get the best grade on the test because I was never taught the content of the study guide. Maybe we could change the way core math works?
